Live now: the public experiment. Coming next: the New Joke Mic and private Joke Workout.
BRIAN CARTER’S 365-DAY PUBLIC COMEDY CHALLENGE
10 jokes a day. 365 days. No hiding.
Come see the joke before it becomes a joke.
Comedian and keynote speaker Brian Carter is writing 3,650 new joke attempts in one year. You can see the rough drafts, rewrites, AI angle experiments, audience feedback, live stage tests, and the jokes that deserve to be killed. The goal is not perfect output. The goal is honest reps.
Written daily. Published with context. Bad first drafts welcome.
DAY 001 / THE JOKE LIFECYCLE
01 / OBSERVATION
“My calendar has more boundaries than I do.”
Start with what you notice.
02 / FIRST DRAFT
“Sorry, I can’t. My calendar is working on itself.”
RAW / find the sharper ending
03 / REWRITE
“Sorry, I can’t. My calendar just told me it needs space.”
REWRITTEN
04 / NEXT TEST
Status: stage test pending. No imaginary laughs.
DAY 001 OF 365
Not every attempt gets better. That is why this exists.
THE RULE
Why write ten jokes even on a bad day?
Because creativity is not a mood you wait for. It is a practice you return to. Some days bring sharp observations. Some days bring airport-brain, sick-day brain, half-awake brain, and ten ideas that should probably stay in the notebook. They still count. The daily rule makes the process visible—and gives the good jokes somewhere to come from.
Sick-Day Ten
Airport Ten
Conference-Hotel Ten
Nothing-Is-Funny Ten
Actually-Good Ten
Some drafts become jokes. Some become lessons. Some become evidence.
Write more. Risk more. Get funnier.
01 / THE EXPERIMENT
Not a joke machine. A human practice in public.
Every entry begins with a human observation. Brian uses reusable comedy principles—ways of noticing tension, contrast, status, language, and absurdity—to generate original attempts. AI may help explore angles, questions, or constraints. It does not replace the point of view.
AI can multiply possibilities. Humans supply the observation, point of view, taste, rewrite, and relationship with a live room.
PUBLIC WRITING
Original observations + reusable comedy principles + revision + stage testing
PRIVATE PRACTICE
Structured exercises + creative constraints + audience prompts + private notebook
Joke-Apalooza gives you structures to practice—not shortcuts around having a point of view.
Three ways into Joke-Apalooza.

03 / BRING IT TO WORK
Bring It to Work
A custom, workplace-safe comedy experience built around your industry, culture, and the absurdities your people actually recognize.
THE DAILY TOOLKIT
Same discipline. New observations.
Brian does not rely on one joke formula repeated forever. Each day begins with an observation and a writing principle—a way to explore what is strange, true, frustrating, or unexpectedly human.
The polite translation
What does the official language really mean?
The unwanted upgrade
What improvement made life worse?
The wrong metric
What gets measured instead of what matters?
The status shift
What tool, app, or system now has more power than a person?
The honest job title
What would this role be called if it told the truth?
The literal metaphor
What happens when workplace language becomes real?
The future archaeologist
How will people later misunderstand what we do now?
The specific confession
What tiny behavior exposes a larger fear?
These are writing principles, not joke shortcuts. The material still has to become personal, specific, surprising, and funny.
THEMED WRITING SPRINTS
Fresh jokes for the worlds people actually work in.
Joke-Apalooza will run focused writing sprints for specific audiences. The goal is not to pretend one comedian knows every industry. It is to listen closely, write specifically, test carefully, and make the right people feel seen.
AI + Work
Meetings, prompts, automation, resistance, and the software that promised to save time.

Teachers + Education
