Live now: the public experiment. Coming next: the New Joke Mic and private Joke Workout.

ABOUT / HOW IT WORKS

10 jokes a day. 365 days. No hiding.

Brian Carter is a comedian, keynote speaker, technologist, and the creator of Joke-Apalooza. His vow: write 10 jokes a day for 365 days—3,650 joke attempts, with the rough work visible.

Some days will be funny. Some days will be sick-day jokes, airport jokes, half-awake jokes, dead-on-arrival jokes, and jokes that should never have left the notes app. They all count.

The vow is to make the attempts, not to pretend every attempt works. A draft counts as an attempt; a laugh, a stage-tested label, or a kept joke still has to be earned.

Follow an idea through the lab.

AI is an angle partner. Not the comedian.

What AI does: multiplies associations, suggests alternate angles, and explores structures. It can help a writer notice a route they haven’t tried.

What AI does not do: own the final material, develop Brian’s point of view, choose what is worth saying, or earn a laugh from a live audience. Humans rewrite, make the decisions, and stand behind the work.

Public work versus private practice

PUBLIC PROJECT: Brian’s 365-day writing challenge. He writes ten new, original, principle-driven joke attempts every day, based on observations, stories, cultural tensions, work life, personal growth, technology, and real life. He shares drafts, revisions, feedback, and stage outcomes.

FUTURE PRIVATE JOKE WORKOUT: A private practice tool for writers, speakers, creators, and comedians. It uses structured exercises, reusable joke-writing frameworks, creative constraints, audience-specific prompts, and eventually carefully bounded AI-assisted angle exploration.

Joke-Apalooza gives you structures to practice—not shortcuts around having a point of view.

The private Workout is not an AI joke generator. It is a place to develop your human voice, not press a button for finished jokes.

The killed jokes stay in the notebook.

A raw draft is evidence of an attempt, not a verdict on the writer. Visible failures show what changed, what didn’t work, and why an idea was set aside. The archive makes revision legible and gives other writers permission to begin.

AI can multiply possibilities. It cannot replace lived experience, taste, timing, specificity, or a relationship with a live room.
